[Battle Against a Biblically Accurate Foe]

Since I listen to so much of it, this reminds me of Touhou (or just general early ZUN) music. Very fast paced battle music, with a simple MIDI instrumentation - piano, electric guitar, unorthodox drum line. This song specifically reminded me of these two:

Indeed, retro Touhou feel, especially the beginning. I like it.

I really like the instruments but the compression caused by the drums (mainly the kick) makes it hard to listen to

I check the touhou tag regularly and I like this more than most of the other stuff, but I feel like the compression is a bit much at times. I'm not sure if your trying to bring out the drums by doing that, but if you are, the drums themselves need a bit more oomph. I don't know *anything* about how to actually mix stuff but thats just what it sounds like to me. Otherwise, like I said, I like it more than a lot of the other stuff.

1: link the originals, both original bad apple and the remix since this is a remix of the remix
2: more of a single instrument cover than a remix
3: there’s a single instrument and drums. Strictly speaking it doesn’t sound bad but it’s definitely not quite a song yet
4: I hope you continue to do stuff with Touhou so I have some new music to listen to

You should also link the original bad apple, I feel like some of these super popular remixes start to take credit from ZUNs actual works when people link the remix as if it’s the original or without saying it’s another remix.

[Drawing The Line Between Fiction and Reality]

while this song definitely has a great energy, it doesn't quite seem like something I would expect to be a second phase boss battle theme. It almost gives me feelings more like that you've just finished the boss battle and are a little sad that its over. I feel like a boss fight needs a little more intensity. That said, I don't know what your boss fight is like so this may be perfect. I don't really play the touhou games, I just listen to the music, so I can say there is a lot of it from 9+ that sound like this and are indeed boss fights, but compared to the pieces from 6, 7, and 8 this lacks the high intensity. I also realize a lot of that just comes from the softness of the sounds used.

[GeekyGami - A Sacred Lot Remix]

I wish all of the PC-98 tracks got more attention. While I can't say A Secred Lot is one of my favorites from that era, I love every single one of them, and I think they're ZUNs best work.
