this does not have boss energy (especially not touhou boss, there no "theme" or musically coherent melody for that matter), the main synth sounds really out of sync, and it sounds super empty. Maybe this is what you were going for though, as I obviously don't know anything about this game you're working on.

The idea was that Hiyu would be a cold-hearted snob that would attack slowly, but when she would attack they would be relentless and huge. It was also made to try and reflect her lack of care for anyone's feelings, hence the empty feeling the song has. Glad it worked!

I check the touhou tag regularly and I like this more than most of the other stuff, but I feel like the compression is a bit much at times. I'm not sure if your trying to bring out the drums by doing that, but if you are, the drums themselves need a bit more oomph. I don't know *anything* about how to actually mix stuff but thats just what it sounds like to me. Otherwise, like I said, I like it more than a lot of the other stuff.

You should also link the original bad apple, I feel like some of these super popular remixes start to take credit from ZUNs actual works when people link the remix as if it’s the original or without saying it’s another remix.

I like the panning but I feel like it can be a bit too much and messed with my head and makes me feel off balance. Good otherwise.

When I first started listening to the touhou soundtracks I never included any of the retro songs in my playlists because I found them boring (also they were super quiet and I was tired of turning the volume up only to get hit with necrofantasia immediately afterwards and grab everyone in the room's attention). Eventually I decided to create a favorites playlist by putting all 1,000 of my songs in my playlist and removing ones that I didn't like when they played. Every time a retro song came on I was thoroughly impressed by the fact that every single one of them is amazing. I haven't removed a single one from my playlist. I think that they're some of ZUN's finest work, and Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorites.

Also its funny, touhou stuff is kinda rare here, only a handful of people consistently produce touhou stuff, and you happened to post your's right after another

I happen to be a Touhou 1-trick pony on Newgrounds lmao, so most of my content is Touhou remixes and covers! I find my soft, trance-like style to fit the Classic Era of Touhou really well and I'm glad to hear that other people enjoy the PC-98 era as much as I do. Despite these songs being some of ZUN's first works, I think they're some of his greatest. They aren't overly "showy" like a lot of the songs from the most recent Touhou games, if that makes sense.

I wanted to make a remix of this as well as September Pumpkin but I'm trying to stop doing remixes and start making my own stuff. I wish it was longer because I like it, although the synth sounds a little too detuned
